The Great Silk Road is a historically established international trade route of the East and West, and played a major role in the development of economic and cultural ties between the nations.

Merchants and buyers from different countries hurried to the noisy and colorful Oriental bazaar to trade silk and porcelain from distant China, spices from India, ceramics from Khorezm, works of fine art and many other rare goods. This ancient cultural tradition continues to flourish til this day.

Central Asian craftsmen will show you how national musical instruments are made, and will play them afterwards. Masters from Almaty, Turkestan, Aktau and Petropavlovsk will demonstrate their products created from metal, clay, felt and wood.
