Kim-Asar gorge is more known to Almaty townspeople as «Commissar» gorge. One of the theories of such name it is translation from the Kazakh language the word «kimasar» - "who will pass." It is quite possible, that in the years after the October revolution, in the days of intense work and promotion of Lenin’s ideas, Red commissars, led by Furmanov, loved to relax here with vodka and caviar. No wonder that the most tourist popular peak in the gorge, with the height of 2850 m has the name of a politician - Furmanov. It is noteworthy that this area allows to organize a large number of circular trekking for tourists with different levels of training.
